Training and supervision for the helping professions

You support others every day. This work exposes you, and it calls for a place to set down what it stirs up. Three psychologists accredited by the Federation of Swiss Psychologists (FSP), trainers of emergency psychologists in French-speaking Switzerland, support teams and professionals who want to last in their profession.

The occupational risk

An exposed profession does not wear you down by chance

Listening to suffering, intervening in crises, supporting vulnerability: this repeated exposure leaves its mark. We speak of compassion fatigue when empathy runs dry from being called on so often. Of vicarious trauma when the stories of the people you support end up marking the person who receives them. Of burnout when it is the workload and the working environment that exhaust you.

Three distinct realities, often intertwined, which can be prevented and treated. This is not individual fragility: it is an occupational risk, and it calls for a professional response.

In-house

Tailor-made training for your teams

We build each training course with you, starting from the reality of your field. Existing themes: stress management, crisis and emergency management, resilience and character strengths. The body and the regulation of the nervous system are at the heart of our approach: you cannot last in an exposed profession on concepts alone.

In-house formats, in your institution, for a team or a department, or on an individual basis. For organisations that want to embed this approach over the long term, a collaboration agreement brings together training, regular supervision and responsiveness in the event of a critical incident.

Supervision

Regular supervision, individual or for teams

Supervision offers a protected space to analyse your practice, set down difficult situations and regain perspective. Individually, in a peer group, as a team or as an institution. It is led by field clinicians rooted in psychotraumatology: the care of the aftermath of potentially traumatic events.

What you take away

Every training course and every supervision session comes with a certificate of attendance. For psychologists, supervision sessions can be credited as supervision hours towards the specialisation title in emergency psychology or towards continuing education.

Post-traumatic stress in emergency professions

Sabrina Alberti was the guest of the Semeur podcast for a conversation (in French) on post-traumatic stress in emergency professions: recognising the first signs, understanding the risk of accumulation and taking care of yourself to last in the profession.
